Here are my answers, I'm doing this as I save online, so you'll hv to be patient while I double check my own answers.
1. B (25 topics in total)
2. C (No evidence of media type)
3. B (Can be disproved by mention of UK, Asia Pacific Region etc.)
4. A (refer to linegraph)
5. B (shifted away from pro n anti to more balanced style)
6. B (revised answer: confirmed vs believed)
7. B (adult issue only)
8. B (nearly half, not all)
9. A (yes, refers to sedentary lifestyle)
10. A (yes, get up every half hr)
11. C (moving helps remove wastes)
12. A (contrary to popular belief...)
13. A (cause aching)
14. A (best choice although I think it's still questionable cos they said lying, but not lying for hours until ur back aches for lack of movement)
15. A (to show the huge difference/extent between the two scenarios)
16. C (pollution is a logical answer but NOT explicitly stated in the text)
17. B (main point is that there is not enough protection of the sea)
18. B (ridiculous way to restore fish stocks)
19. C (aquaculture)
20. C (increase fivefold by 2010)
21. C (negative note as there will be no fish left except in history class)
22. A (no dearth means no limit to the amount of advice, hence it can fill volumes)
23. B (unreliable variants)
24. B (A is definitely wrong, I agree with B because the results can be trusted and I disagree with C because there is no specific definition for 'right' as in who's right is really right?)
25. B (def not C, A could be right but I'm leaning towards the word 'inconclusive' because it stated that it 'has not been confirmed' and 'no one knows')
26. B (be skeptical)
27. C (bury = hide the truth = dishonest)
28. C (not hopeless)
29. B (explosion of knowledge based on more studies)
30. A (man has manipulated them for thousands of years)
31. C (the two are similar, hence can be seen as an extension)
32. D (no different in principle = similarities between the two)
33. D (quantum leap means a huge jump ahead = major advancement in this field)
34. C (definitely not A & B, so if u answered C or D it would b a better bet)
35. C (by giving examples)
36. D (no change from past to future)
37. B (I think he was quite neutral, just explaining the facts, but it could be A as well, however, did he really criticize or just describe his points?)
38. A (she reflected on her past)
39. B (I dont think she was stingy, and no mention of not educated or talkative/hardworking)
40. D (sounds of clicking)
41. C (def not A cos she didnt feel like she was poor, n wasnt just about food or their flat)
42. A (awe because he managed to cure someone that American doctors)
43. D (no explanation needed, hahahaha)
44. A (shocking!)
45. A (the first reflection showed the child was IMpatient, crying n demanding the salted plums )
So guys, anything to trash out? :P How did you score?
If you want your marks for this component:
your score x 120 / 45
example 30 x 120 / 45 = 80/120.
If you want a prediction of your band:
your score x 300 / 45
example 30 x 300 /45 = 200/300 (Band 4)
*it's just a prediction ok.. cos it obviously doesnt reflect your performance in the other papers)
Band 1: 0 - 99
Band 2: 100 - 139
Band 3: 140 - 179
Band 4: 180 - 219
Band 5: 220 - 259
Band 6: 260 - 300
Thanks for being patient and staying tuned to my blog! God bless u all.. Now someone please upload the report and essay questions and I will write a sample. Cheers! 9

ReplyDeleteyes i agree with u only sitting too long wil build up the lactic acid
DeleteLOL.. I MESSED UP THE NUMBERING, THERE WAS NO 11. SO 14 U THINK IS A? WHY?
ReplyDeletei chose B..quite tricky because it does not state the period of sitting
DeleteA(line 35-36)you are lying longer(relax),but you don't feel bad to your backs( there is no worse for your back)- i think this is true
B(line 23-24)encourage us to be static means encourage us to sit longer. so, B does not state about sitting period. I think it is wrong
madam audrey ...no.5 i choose A becoz there is still hv more coverage media to report ..it has mentioned in line 6
ReplyDeletebecause B and C are correct... line 39 reflect B is correct, and line 41-43 reflect C is correct... and A is not stated/mentioned in text.... this is just how i choose the answer =)
ReplyDeletemy comment above is for Question 14

DeleteDear Mrs. Audrey,
ReplyDeleteIn question 6, "One human death of new variant CJD 'WAS CONFIRMED' ...". However, in the passage paragraph 3, line 14, it says "THIS IS BELIEVED to have been contracted...". So, should the answer be false as the question contradicts with the statement given?
I absolutely agree that the answer should be false since the term used in the text and the term used in the question are different.
Deleteyes..i also answered false bcoz of the contradiction in using da word
Deleteagree.. i chose false too,,
ReplyDeletei choose false too, MUET really tricky
Deletebut i tink is true..u read carefully then u wil tink it is true =)
Deleteme too . I think is true .
DeleteI choose false too.. How to say that it is true?
DeleteI chose A, answer is direct stated at line 14-15
DeleteAs p2p said, It stated "believed" BUT not "confirmed'
Deletei choose false too becoz it said “believe”...
Deletei choose A ..it should be true ^^
DeleteI chose A too. Actually both have the same meaning.
ReplyDeleteQ6,is it too much activity(A) is the answer??i have chosen inactivity(C)...someone can explain to me why?
ReplyDelete"Contrary to popular belief, most back injuries happen due to inactivity,RATHER THAN EXCESSIVE ACTIVITY". So actually the popular belief is about excessive activity(too much activities) can cause back injuries.
DeleteSorry,is Q12..
ReplyDelete"quantum leaps" means what? someone please?
ReplyDeletems audrey, where's the rest of the ans :P
ReplyDeletei think 'quantum leaps' means 'major shift'..
ReplyDeletebut i think quantum leaps is major advancement...
ReplyDeleteleap means jump or shift or transition.. so i think the most likely answer is A.. hmmmm~
ReplyDeleteaccording to longman dictionary, quantum leap means improvement... so, it is the same as advancement i think....
ReplyDeleteMiss audrey can you please update the answers as soon as possible? :)
ReplyDeleteQ8,9 are paralysis and depression right?
ReplyDeleteyes..i answered paraysis n depr
DeleteBUT i answered coordination problems and depression..
DeleteBut my answer is deafness n blindness...paralysis is mwntioned in the beginning of the talk n it give example for who get paralysis only...coordination problem is also talk about one example,Tom is just the person who has c.problem...deafness n blindness are mentioned in almost the end of the talk...tat guy has said,we are welcome for who has blindness, deafness n parkinsonism...anyway,this is just my prediction...
ReplyDeleteBut the question say something about the first patient . So , the answer should be paralysis and depression .
Deleteneed the answers for15 -45

DeleteI think question 43 should be C
ReplyDeletebecause at line 36-38 stated that "the front window diaplayed a tank crowded with doomed fish and turtles...."
can someone pls explain about Q1 & Q5?
DeleteFor Q10, what is the evidence of the answer is A? I chose C as I culdnt find any points relating with the q.
ReplyDeleteFor Q15, I think it is either A or B, as B can also be true as Malaysia faced the prospect of ... in the next 20 years. It does not happened yet.
For Q21, i think it is B as cautious means showing careful forethought (" If things go ....)
For Q30, i think it is A as it is clearly stated in first sentence
For Q36, can someone enlighten me pls. I chose C
For Q38, i think it is C (I was six when my mother)
Do you guys agree with me?
Love, xoxo
