  3. Madam Audrey, I am the one who posted my answers on your previous blog post.

I got almost the same answers as yours, except a little difference.

    23. C

    26. A (It couldn't be B, since grass-fed cattle have higher ratios of O-3 to O-6 fatty acid, thus "it is believed to reduce the risk of cancer", therefore making B an advantage. A is not an advantage because although a grass-fed cattle has higher ratios of O-3 to O-6 fatty acid, but that doesn't imply more fatty acid. Biologically, it is entirely different.)

    38. A

    39. C

    1. but on the other way, it said reduce the risk of cancer but NOT reduce the risk of VARIOUS cancer isn't it? this just ruined me = =

      Delete
    2. Hmm, but it doesn't specify what cancer it is in the passage, so it could be various cancers (eg, if the passage says reduce the risk of XXX (eg. ovarian cancer), then surely B is wrong, but it doesn't specify any type of cancer)

Just my 2 cents, it could be wrong. This is tricky indeed.... but for the time being, I will stick to my guns ^_^

    3. while on the other hand, A seems to me outright wrong.

    4. i see~ anyway, thanks for your explanation. =D

    5. I think the passage is clearly mentioned that 'cattle eat more grass have higher ratio of 03 fatty acids to 06' implies that its meat has more fatty acid and thus gives advantage to A.

And I second to the commenter above that it reduce cancer but not 'various cancers'. Well, it's just my view. =)

    6. I actually agreed to the answer A because it doesn't state what fatty acid. Both omega-3 and omega-6 are fatty acid.

  4. 38. A (Although there is a slight mention of tobacco, I believe this is only a contrasting device to highlight the hazard of salt, while the general idea presented in paragraph 1 is still the discussion of whether salt really does pose a hazard to health)

    39. C (I am not sure about this... but only some parts of Asia take 12g, which is the highest intake... it seems to me C is equally probable)

    23. C ( not sure either, but the author seems to implicitly suggesting that only the rich can afford it by saying "those who can afford it")

  9. Madam Audrey, I have a few doubts:

    3. B (I chose B because in the 2nd paragraph, it was mentioned that more than 25% of the executives left within a year and the odds of an involuntary departure more than doubled. They left involuntarily.)

    34. C (Okeke couldn't care less about his son because he said it can be of no interest to me where and how you spend your leave - or your life, for that matter"

    38. A

    39. C (It was stated only in some parts of Asia do they consume 12g of salt, not every part)

    1. Hi..

I think Q3 should be C, because although it is mentioned that some leave involuntarily, but there can be more executives leave voluntarily due to different vision than those forced out. We just don't know it conclusively.

Q34 I can't be sure about this, but my choice is D, because the letter, when put into the story context, betrays an unforgiving attitude towards tNnaemeka's "betrayal" beneath the surface of feigned indifference.

      38 is A and 39 C... GREAT!! I concur with you :)

Anyone wants to second my view that Q23 answer could be A?

By the way, Madam Andrey, I believe, is on a trip, so further elaboration from her has to be waited until end of this month..

    2. ya. my ans would be A as well.

  10. Madam Audrey, is it mean that if I correct 21/45 then I will have high probability to get Band 3?

    ReplyDelete
  11. q26 should be A, 38 should be A, 39 should be C... 35\45 T_T

    ReplyDelete
  12. 23. Should be A - but those who can afford it, should support the movement (buying organic foods)

    29. I'd go for C instead of A

    38. Why not C? because when I read the passage it was like they're having a war to prove which is the intake of salt that is good. either high or low intake.

got only 30/45. am I possible to get band 5? the questions quite tough, really! T_T

  15. question 26 should be A ........

    ReplyDelete
  16. Q31 should be A, Okeke was known to be obstinately ahead of his more superstitious neighbours in these matters. Answer D said that he was less superstitious than the other villagers. so, answer A should be better.

  17. the question is totally difficult..24/ 45 may prove to be good enough..huhu...

  21. 24 could be "B' ,,even tough they suggests to get picks up on industrial engineering, but the topic explains about "B',,seems there is no explanation for "C' except the first 2 word

    ReplyDelete
  22. 26 r also 'C' look at the last word, animals not raised feedlots have less chances of spreading e.coli,,but the question asks about the adv. of grass feed cattle,,therefore, the ans should be c

  23. lets just wait for our Muet result.... :-) September....

  24. Mine is 34/45. Hmm.... I have to agree with most of the users on Q's 23, 26, 38 and 39.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Q23......according to examiner.....the question consist of more than 1 part.....so the answer must nt b consist of 1 part only.....thus answer = c

  26. MPM seems lack of systematic progress, on the contrary, Toefl! ,it only require one week to announce their result itself, but MPM takes about 60 Days to announce the result. has that not taken a much longer time? Why do MPM never cares about the customer? they do nothing apart from making their own satisfaction.

  27. 37/45
But i have no faith in my writing paper T_T

  28. While most of the questions I deferred from the answers given by the author have been justified to my understanding,I have doubts on Q. No. 44 which the answer provided is B.
To quote from the passage, "Alderson claims that the Cochrane study is flawed. He re-analysed the same data in a SLIGHTLY different way...."
Answer B states that the data is wrongly analysed. Now, Alderson tweaked the analysis formula a wee bit to provide the "statistically significant" changes, so that rules out that the Cochrane study is totally wrong.
Answer C denotes that the meta-analysis approach is not suitable. I'd pick C because it MAY refer the the Cochrane's method (though it's not specified). However, some argued that Alderson too used the meta-analysis, albeit a slightly different one. Refer to line 66 of the paragraph. What do you think?
Anyways, it's a past conundrum. I'm just waiting for the results to be out regardless.
