Here are the grammar errors in the text, with corrections and explanations:

Original Sentence:

"Being a good parents is a very challenging responsibility because it not just taking care of a child’s needs, but it also involved understanding and good guidance."

Errors & Corrections:

  1. "a good parents""a good parent"
🔹 "Parents" is plural, but "a" is singular. Use "parent" to match.

  2. "it not just taking care""it is not just about taking care"
🔹 Missing verb "is" and awkward phrasing. "Just about taking care" is more natural.

  3. "it also involved""it also involves"
🔹 Wrong tense. Use "involves" (present) to match "is."

Original Sentence:

"I believe that good parents will guide their children to get a good future."

Correction:

  • Technically okay, but more natural phrasing:
"I believe that good parents will guide their children towards a better future."

Original Sentence:

"There are some of the characteristics of good parents such as loving, concerned and responsible."

Errors & Corrections:

  1. "There are some of the characteristics""Some characteristics of good parents are"
🔹 More natural word order and avoids redundancy.

  2. "concerned" → could be clarified to "caring"
🔹 "Concerned" is correct but "caring" is more commonly used in this context.

Fully Corrected Version:

Being a good parent is a very challenging responsibility because it is not just about taking care of a child’s needs, but it also involves understanding and good guidance. I believe that good parents will guide their children towards a better future. Some characteristics of good parents are being loving, caring, and responsible.

SEE HOW AMAZING THAT WAS? NOW FOR MUET LEVEL THE LANGUAGE COULD BE MORE FORMAL SO TELL IT TO REWRITE.

Sure! Here is a 5-paragraph MUET Band 5 level essay based on the topic of good parenting, written in formal yet clear English suitable for Malaysian candidates:

Title: The Importance of Good Parenting in Shaping a Child’s Future

Introduction
Being a good parent is a highly demanding responsibility, as it involves more than merely attending to a child’s basic needs. It also requires understanding, patience, and the ability to provide consistent guidance. I believe that responsible parents play a crucial role in shaping their children’s future by offering support and direction. Key characteristics of effective parenting include being loving, attentive, and accountable. In this essay, I will discuss examples of well-known individuals who have demonstrated strong parenting skills and highlight what we can learn from them.

Body Paragraph 1
One inspiring example of a good parent is Michelle Obama, former First Lady of the United States. Despite her demanding public life, she always prioritised her daughters, Malia and Sasha. Michelle ensured they had a stable routine, proper education, and privacy to grow up away from excessive media attention. She once said, "My most important title is 'mom'." Her balanced approach between work and family shows that good parenting includes being present and setting clear values at home. Her actions show that nurturing emotional well-being is just as important as academic success.

Body Paragraph 2
Another admirable figure is Malaysian actress and entrepreneur Noor Neelofa. Although she is constantly in the spotlight, she has made it clear that her role as a mother is her priority. She often shares her journey in learning about parenting through reading, seeking advice from professionals, and surrounding her child with strong Islamic values. Neelofa proves that modern parents can balance faith, career, and family responsibilities with grace. Her efforts show that good parenting also involves lifelong learning and self-improvement.

Body Paragraph 3
Similarly, David Beckham, the famous English footballer, is well known not just for his sports achievements but also for being a devoted father to his four children. He frequently expresses love and support for his kids on social media and is involved in their daily lives, from school events to personal interests. Beckham’s parenting style shows the importance of active involvement from both parents. His example reminds us that being a good father means more than just providing financially—it also includes emotional availability and active participation.

Conclusion
In conclusion, parenting is a long-term commitment that demands love, time, and wisdom. The examples of Michelle Obama, Noor Neelofa, and David Beckham prove that good parenting is possible regardless of fame or busy schedules. To improve parenting skills, it is important for parents to attend workshops, read reliable resources, and seek support from experienced individuals. By doing so, they can better understand their children’s needs and build stronger family relationships. A nation’s future depends on the values passed down by its parents—so it is vital to get it right.

Certainly. Below is the rewritten MUET Band 5 essay in British English with the requested structure. Title: The Importance of Good Parenting in Shaping a Child’s Future

Introduction
Being a good parent is a highly demanding responsibility as it involves more than merely attending to a child’s basic needs. It also requires understanding, patience and the ability to provide consistent guidance. I believe that responsible parents play a crucial role in shaping their children’s future by offering support and direction. Key characteristics of effective parenting include being loving, attentive and accountable. In this essay I will discuss these three qualities using real-life examples of public figures who demonstrate strong parenting values.

Body Paragraph 1
Being loving is one of the most essential traits of a good parent. Love creates a safe emotional space for children to grow with confidence. A clear example is Michelle Obama who consistently showed affection and care toward her daughters despite the demands of her role as First Lady of the United States. She made time to be present in their daily lives and taught them to stay grounded. Her statement "My most important title is 'mum'" reflects her deep commitment to motherhood. Michelle's example shows how love builds the foundation of a child’s self-worth and values.

Body Paragraph 2
Good parents are also attentive to their children's needs and development. This means being aware of their emotions education and overall well-being. Malaysian actress and entrepreneur Noor Neelofa provides an excellent example. Although she has a busy public life she often shares how she learns about parenting through reading and consulting experts. She prioritises her child’s growth by instilling strong spiritual and moral values from a young age. Neelofa’s approach reflects how attentiveness leads to mindful and purposeful parenting.

Body Paragraph 3
Being accountable is another key quality of effective parenting. It means taking full responsibility for a child’s upbringing and being actively involved in their growth. David Beckham the well-known English footballer demonstrates this clearly. Despite his fame he participates in his children’s lives by attending school events supporting their interests and maintaining close relationships with them. His actions prove that accountability goes beyond financial support and includes being emotionally available and dependable at all times.

Conclusion
In conclusion good parenting requires love attention and accountability. These qualities are shown clearly in the lives of Michelle Obama Noor Neelofa and David Beckham. Parents who aim to improve their skills should take part in parenting courses read from reliable sources and seek guidance from experienced individuals. By doing so they can understand their children better and raise them to be balanced and responsible citizens. As the proverb wisely says children are not things to be moulded but people to be unfolded.

Sure. Below is the MUET Band 3 (CEFR B2 level) version of the essay. The language is simplified, sentence structures are more direct, and vocabulary is suitable for mid-proficiency learners while keeping the main ideas intact.

Title: The Importance of Good Parenting in a Child’s Life

Introduction
Being a good parent is not easy. It is more than just giving food and a place to stay. Good parents must understand their children and guide them in the right way. They play an important role in helping children have a better future. Some of the important qualities of good parents are being loving attentive and responsible. This essay will explain these qualities and give examples of famous people who show good parenting.

Body Paragraph 1
Being loving is one of the most important qualities of a good parent. Children need love to feel safe and confident. One good example is Michelle Obama the former First Lady of the United States. Even though she had a busy life she always made time for her two daughters. She gave them love and care and helped them grow up with good values. She once said that her most important role is being a mother. This shows that love is the foundation of good parenting.

Body Paragraph 2
Another important quality is being attentive. This means parents must know what their children need and support their growth. A good example is Malaysian celebrity Noor Neelofa. Even though she is always in the public eye she takes parenting seriously. She reads books joins talks and learns from others about how to be a better mother. She also teaches her child strong values from her religion. Neelofa shows that paying close attention to children helps them grow in the right way.

Body Paragraph 3
The third important quality is being responsible. This means that parents must take care of their children and be involved in their lives. David Beckham the famous footballer shows this very well. He always makes time for his four children by going to their school events and supporting their hobbies. He also shows his love and pride for them. This proves that a good parent is someone who does not just give money but also gives time and care.

Conclusion
In conclusion good parenting means being loving attentive and responsible. Michelle Obama Noor Neelofa and David Beckham are clear examples of parents who practise these values. Parents today can improve their parenting by learning from books attending parenting classes and asking for advice from experienced people. When parents do better children will have a brighter future. As the saying goes children are not things to be moulded but people to be unfolded.

Suggested answers for MUET Reading 800/3 Session 1 2025

Yes, yes.. you have been badgering me to upload. Ok it is now Monday and someone kindly sent me the scanned copy of the reading test for Session 1, 2025. There are a few tricky questions. You may argue to your heart's content but remember to be civil about it.

After you get your result, times it by 9 and then look at the banding.. so if you get 30... 30x9=270 so that makes it Band 4.5... it is a good estimate of how your actual results MAY look like.

MY ANSWERS, NOT MPM'S:

1. B (Secondary sch English programmes)

19. B (very similar)

MUET Results Session 3 2024

Wow.. how time flies! I've been crazy busy but the new year is here and my students MUET results for Session 2024 is out! I can officially say that our results were super amazing.. overall not just 5 B4.5 like previous 2 years... but this round we had 18 B.5 and one boy, Ryan, was 3 marks short of getting Band 5... missed it by a whisker! He did super amazing in writing with an ALL TIME HIGH of 81/90! My other boy Rezman nicknamed 'Ears' was one question short of perfect for listening with 87/90!!! Yet another boy in my class Gareth got the highest score for speaking 76/90! In fact, I am crazy proud of my 6PP class of this batch because ALL OF THEM scored 3.5 - 4.5 and we didn't have a single B2.5 or B3 even though it was so challenging teaching them. Crazy proud of them! Big love!
