  6. Question 10 i think the answer shud be B. False statement since line 24 stating one step closer to self sufficient , so the country is not going to export rice.

    2. Well, I would like to give my opinion, if our country are one step ahead to be self-sufficent into a production, then there is a possibility that our country to exports rice to other countries. If the question asked that our country will going to import rice then it is wrong. I think you were puzzled with export and import concept. Well then, I agree with madam Audrey answer this time that there is no statements showing that our country will going to export rice. Feel free to debate, this is just my personal opinion. :)

    3. i agree with Mdm Audrey's answer. it is not stated as there is nothing which says Malaysia is going to export any rice. it just said that Malaysia is self sufficient

  9. For question no 6, according to line 20 anf 21 ,is it a true indicator to state the answer to be an A?

    ReplyDelete
  10. No, i think question is to be not stated. A brand is a promise to customers doesn't mean that a successful brand ALWAYS KEEPS its promise to a customers

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. i agree it should be not stated as there is only the statement that a successful brand is a promise, not that they were going to keep that promise

  11. For question 23, is it by 2050 the same meaning as from 2050 in line 21 ? my answer is A, so far anyone agree ?

    1. My answer is A too

      Delete
    2. i thoroughly agree as well. the answer b is wrong because it said from 2050 and c is obviously wrong. so for 23 it should be a

    3. Yeah, I also think the answer is A.

  12. Just my understanding for ques 8 , red menace = weedy rice, isn't the answer should be A ? and i think 90 millions lost per season is nothing related to it, it's still also a losses of almost 100 millions for the last two decades as stated in the 1st paragraph

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Are weedy rice and red manace just the same thing? I were puzzled with this question as well. However, I chose A as the answer as well.

      Delete
    2. Based on line 2 .....will cease to be a problem and line 4.....weedy rice....but no more... so I come to conclude that weedy rice = red menace

      Delete
    3. yes, weedy rice is also known as red rice

      Delete
    4. i was confused too but when i looked at the question over again. i saw the "two decade" which mean 20 years. that's why i answered A.

  23. Hi there,
I would like to share my views regarding questions 8, 13,22, 25 and 27

For question 8, I choose "A" as the question states that :The weedy rice (padi angin) has caused the paddy industry to lose almost RM 100 million in the last 2 decades.

As the 2nd line of the first paragraph shows that the "red menace" that has plagued the paddy industry for more than 20 years, resulting in almost RM 100million in losses ........

And for question 13, the answer for "C" is that the padi angin competes with the NEW VARIETIES of paddy for nutrients. Well, according to the passage, the new varities are tolerantof the herbicide imidazolinone, but as you look at paragraph 1, line 3,4, it reads "the weedy rice(padi angin) has had a stranglehold on cultivated varities by growing alonside them and competing for NUTRIENTS and SPACE. So, according to this line, it shows that the weedy rice does compete for nutrients but it didnt mention on the "new variety", and on the other hand, answer b states that the padi angin invades the space where standard paddy is grown, still proving that there is a competition for space for cultivated species.

For question 22,the first paragraph line 6 says that "Divorce, though rising in some countries, remains comparatively rare. And as for paragraph 3, line 1, it says that "A lot of Asians are not marrying later, THEY ARE NOT MARRYING AT ALL". I am not sure why answer c proves to be the best answer as the flight from mariage also shows that more asians are opting to stay single as well.

For question 25, line 40-42 shows that "Compared with the West, Asian countries have invested less in pensions and other forms of social protection, ON THE ASSUMPTION THAT THE FAMILY WILL LOOK AFTER AGEING OR ILL RELATIVES." So, Asian citizens have invested less in pensions and other forms of social protection, how come they can take "receiving a pension and social protection" for granted when they have not invested in instead when they fully have the assumption that their relatives would take care ageing family members?

For question 27, isn't it that governments "cannot" legislate away popular prejudices, I personally felt that answer "A" is more appropriate as the term legislate is defined as "make/enact laws"

Feel free to debate, this is just my personal thoughts,

    Thank you very much =)

  25. The standard span of these credits is only fourteen days and such advances are taken to meet costs till the following payday. These sorts of advances are commonly include little sums running from £500 to about £1000. Payday credits are otherwise called loan and the financing cost is on the higher side.

  26. In the greater part of the cases, the payback plan is settled by the following due payday of the candidate.
