I've ammended a few answers thanks to Scott and Naomi. Keep up the good work guys.

  4. seems like the response is not good huh... but i will let u on in a lil secret. if all students in malaysia did badly in this test, they MIGHT adjust the marks.. meaning .. to get band 3 might be less than 140 marks.. maybe 120.. dont be surprised that there is such adjustments because all exam results are supposed to follow the bell theory. if u can imagine a bell shaped graph.. then u know what i mean. few fails, few excellent students and mostly average hence the bell shape. anyway, if the results are two low they might adjust the marks and you might still be able to get band 4. but dont quote me on this.. this is just speculation.

  5. I just marked it. = / There is good and bad about it. There are a few questions which I have initially marked correct but I changed them last minute. = / Hence, they became wrong. = ( That carries a lot of marks.. -heartache- -super heartache- Objectives should be the easiest to score, as well as the easiest to lose tons of marks. Tsk..!! The good about it is that I scored better than the first MOCK that I took by 2%. I had a few careless mistakes this time.. I overlooked it! = ((( I scored 30/45 this time. = / Band 4 and 5 seem so far now. = /

    Thx Miss for answer~

Btw, I wanna ask, if I didn't calculate and write how many words for writing test, my test will be deducted marks or not?

  7. thanks very much! i only get 33/45... omg~ i'm very worried right now.. i must get band 4~ too bad...
btw, just wanna ask.. you give us answer for question 40 is B... is that really right? can u check it again.. please~ i'm very apprecite it.. here is the question again..
    40. she was hysterical(lines 33 and 34) because of?
    A. her inability to adjust to life in the us
    B. the quarrel in her family
    C. her lack of money
    D. the cold winter
my answer is d... can u explain to me why the answer is B ?? thanks again!!

    ReplyDelete
  8. i returned the question paper to my student already but i'm quite sure it is B. D is completely unrelated. the lady tells her not to run from her family because 'they are her people'. she just has to deal with it herself.

    ReplyDelete
  12. hi...

  13. errmmm..my answer for question 40 is A..mcm jauh panggang dari api la pula..huhu

    ReplyDelete
  14. I got 36.

I think I did poorly on my writing. The best I could manage is probably 3/4 out of the whole marks.

Is there still a good chance for me getting band 4?

    ReplyDelete
  15. 36 is pretty good. still a good chance to get band 4. as for what is the minimum to still hv a shot at band 4 then i would say 35 and above. but it depends heavily on whether u answered the rest well. as far as i know, the killer is the listening paper as every tiny error is counted as wrong, zero marks. there is no such thing as half mark her and half mark there. anyway.. just wait for the real results in feb/march. just enjoy life till then. :)

  16. OMG =(
i have to get band4 or else i cant graduate =(

  17. omg..

    ReplyDelete
  19. Oh man..
    I only scored 31..
long way to go...need to get Band4......

    ReplyDelete
  20. no marks deducted for not writing number of words.. but maybe if too long or too short it might be self-penalising. you may not reach the requirement for a mature discussion or you may make too many grammatical errors.

  21. hello ms audrey...

do you know when will the result be release???
    eager to know my result...

    ReplyDelete
  26. hai, mam,
    thanks for the answer :D
    madam, can u help me,
if i get between 30-35, is that any probability to achieve band 4?

    ReplyDelete
  27. no marks deducted for no title in q1. i dont hv the exam paper cos i returned it so i cant check no 23 n 29 unless u type out the questions.

  28. I want to ask about quetion 4:
Both China and Australia are Malaysia's traditional markets.
    a) True
    b) False
    c) Not stated

    * From passage:
The International Trade and Industry Minister reported that export growth in 2007 emanated from both traditional and emerging markets such as China, Australia,United Arab Emirates and Indonesia.

It's it the answer should be not stated, because we dunno which market should be traditional and which should be emerging (they grouped them together)??

    Hope your reply soon. ^^

  29. i only score about 37/4o...i wish i score 40 and above..but what i can say..this a really tough paper..this makes me wonder if i still have the chance to get band 4...but right i only can sit n wait 4 the result...thanks madam 4 the answer...

    ReplyDelete
  30. Can i ask y?I think there's some wrong answers.
    Answers should be like these...
2)B - Surplus is exports minus import

7)C -the passage says GREW by, growth rate tells nothing about earnings

23)C -(The passage tells us STUNT GROWTH)

25)C -(They only say rate of infection in NEWHAM, EAST LONDON. It's not LONDON. Bty, you can also check online by typing tuberculosis is related to poverty!)

  32. hi miss audrey, may i ask, the passage said that RM100.53 bil was the 2nd highest ever on record but it did not mention that that it is for the year 2007 so for that question(no. 2) shouldn't it be C(not stated)

I agree with scott for Q 7,23 AND 25. got the same answers as he did.

    plus, for Q 30, shouldn't it be C and and Q 35 C AND q38 b?

SO SORRY FOR THE TROUBLE AND THANK YOU! :)

  33. Naomi, you should check this original passage
    www.matrade.gov.my/cms/documentstorage/com.tms.cms.document.Document_6175ac26-7f000010-55b455b4-d2297181/matradeMedia012008.pdf

The passage(in muet paper) tells us " Collectively, these markets accounted for RM101.28 billion or 16.7% of Malaysia's TOTAL EXPORTS."

If you calculate the total exports(Rm101.28billion divided by 16.7% times 100%), you'd actually get RM606.5 billion which is exactly same as the original passage that tells us RM605.1 billion!)

  34. Teacher. In listening part, is it case sensitive?
For example, like july, supposed to be July?

    ReplyDelete
  35. 1. emerging markets such as china n australia... (i would consider this the right answer as you need to break this sentence into two as in emerging markets. and emerging markets such as... BUT i could be wrong)

    2. as for the rest, i'd double check it but i no longer have the exam paper as i returned it to the student. at the time of doing it i double n triple checked my answers... so i am sure i can explain why my answers. if someone could be so kind as to scan the entire paper and email to me then i will answer your questions. queendrey@gmail.com

scott: yes it is case sensitive. any errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, spacing, exceed word limit.. all ZERO marks. no such thing as half mark or pity mark. :)

  39. if the reading paper get between 30-35, is that any probability to achieve band 4?

    ReplyDelete
  40. hye tchr.. seems like there are several questions that im quite not satisfied..ques no 4,no 13,no 29,35 and no 39... no 4 is about china and australia are malaysia's traditional market.. no 13 is bout the meaning of ''available commercially''..no 29 is about the passage is developed through by what....while ques no 35 is bout what the greatest obstacle to educating young people.... and the last one is bout the description to kiyoko san's..i just remember the word ''unenchanting appearance''...from this word, i think the best description to kiyoko is unattractive...is it true that unenchanting is similar meaning to unattractive? for no 13, i answered C bcoz i think anything that available commercially defenitely can be purchased...isnt it? when the thing can be purchased, it might contributed to the higher sale..therefore, it is something that can make a profit.. i think the best answer is C ( Can make a profit).. how about yur explanation, tchr?

    here are my answers...
    No 4.A >>>> True , teacher's ( B = False )
    No 13.C >>>> Can make a profit ,Teacher's( B =Can be purchased)
    No 29.B>>>> Problem and solution , Teacher's( C = Compare and contrast)
No 35.C>>>> Lack of educational materials
    No 39.B>>>> Unattractive , Teacher's( A =Unrevealing)

    Thank you!!!! =)

  47. According to your answer, I gt 34/45~ bt in fact I gt 99/120~ :D

    ReplyDelete
  48. if you convert, 34/45 is about 91/120.. so 99/120 is pretty close.. it means that maybe 2 of my my answers are inaccurate.. still not bad for me, since i'm an english teacher, not a computer!
