ReplyDeleteThank you for providing sample answers. Below are some suggestions from me. Hope you will take time to read and consider my opinion. =)
1) For question 2, why is it that North America is not included? Shouldn't the answer be 'B' as the population of Northen America only 'more than doubled' for the last 60years?
2) For question 7, Figure 2 shows 'distribution of world population by region for 2012', but not 'difference in number of people from 1950-2010'. So, shouldn't the answer be 'B'? For we can know for sure that the statement in the question is wrong, therefore, making it a FALSE statement.
3) For question 11, isn't the writer's main intention is to highlight the 'successful mobile service' and not 'successful collaboration' since the whole passage is mainly about the mobile phone services?
4) For question 14, the writer wrote that 'Richard Heeks ... sorts them by their impact on development'(line 24). This doesn't mean that the following 3 paragraphs are mainly about the 'impact of mobile services on development', right? If you read properly, I think you will feel that 'A' is definitely a better answer.
5) For question 26, in my opinion, the writer cites the example to show facts and convince the readers that our lives are supported by the oceans and we are dependent on it. The main idea in this paragraph is that the oceans support life and the writer is making a point by citing the example. Hence, 'A' is a better answer.
Just one more question, for question 13, shouldn't the answer be 'B' as paragraph 7 is all about 'mobile trading platforms'?

As for question 13, i typed it wrongly by mistake for the answer. I wanted to type 'C' but I ended up typing 'B' instead... I'm really careless... =( Anyway, I saw your reply to Chow for that question and agreed on your answer.
After checking all of my answers by referring to yours, I found out that I made 11 mistakes. And the worst part is that among these 11, 3 are silly careless mistakes! Arghhhh! :'(
(Fyi, I took MUET before last year, but only got band4 as my writing part only scored 35/90. So i decided to retake but still......)

7) - The bar chart already stated it is 2010. So it should be B right?
11) - the whole idea of the article is to promote mobile apps. So the 2nd paragraph the writer is trying to introduce the powerful of mobile application. This should be A right?
13 - It mentions that farmer can sell their product at the right time, this shows the "selling". For 'Buying', "for people with some cash to spare", this idea shows buying right? In the article it did not mention about apps specifically for poor people. The author is trying to illustrate that everyone can own a mobile phone even poor people. So, my answer = C.
16 - My answer is C as I couldn't find info about 'show off athleticism'. My I know which sentence mention about it?
26 - Photosynthesis produces oxygen to support our life, it does not emit carbon. So I think should be C.
13) refers only to paragraph 5: 'connect the excluded' means connect those who cannot afford it and provide info, no mention of buying and selling.

'Men's careless attitude is the main cause of the destruction of the environment'. (Note that the 'men' is in plural form to indicate gender.)
OR
'A man's careless attitude is the main cause of the destruction of the environment'. (Note there is the article 'a' in front of the sentence to show that it's referring to gender.)
Man refers to humans in general.. not the gender. also environment means our surroundings, both the natural and man-made surroundings. as for 'careless' it means not careful, and it CERTAINLY DOESN'T MEAN 'care-less'. So to write a good essay, it has to describe how humans are careless in preserving our environment. anyone wants to send me a sample? :)

Some of my friends interpret the word careless as "care-less", it means man shows very little care to the environment. But I interpret it as "careless" ( tidak berhati-hati ) , so what're we supposed to write?
