  1. really no limit?sure?more than 200....the examiner would mark?

  2. yes no limit. mpm specifically said not to mark down if more than 200. but a good report should be concise. therefore if you write more than 200, you are putting yourself at risk of more errors and it takes up precious time you should be spending on your academic essay. ;-)

    1. Excuse me.. but it seems that MPM is either utterly confused on its own ruling of 200 words max or it's contradicting itself. In this case they should start a MIND READING class for MUET students. kakakah

    2. Hai Audrey, Having taught this MUET for umpteen yrs, i find that every yr there are several questions which have more than 1 possible ANSWERS for paper 3. It's often imposible to say for sure which is the best answer because both answers given have their merits. Thus diff people will give diff views/interpretation. So which brings me to the question, who sets the paper anyway, have they really, really reviewed/vetted the questions carefully. And why are they, read MPM, reluctant or unable to come up with the answers complete with feedback and reasons for each option given as answers? Defies logic, unless..kakah.... someones asleep on the job?

  5. HI Audrey...pls advise me whether we should write our task 1 answer for the graph in not more than 200 words or we are allowed to exceed more than that as some examiners at my hometown insists that it must not exceed more than 200 words as they say that the examiners will not read if our comments are more than 200 words. I am really confused now. What shall I do?

  7. Hi, Audrey. I have a few questions that i think you might be able to help me.
Question 1: Is 'comparing' under synthesis? Why is comparing between graphs considered as synthesis?
As i know, comparing is under analysis.
Question 2: According to senior lecturers, there shouldn't be any predictions or proposals? Why different people have different views on writing this report?
    I'm puzzled.

  8. your lecturers are right. the format has changed. with a strict 200 word limit now so predictions and proposals are no longer necessary. just write one sentence as the conclusion.
y do u need to classify if it is a synthesis or an analysis.. as long as there is interpretation of the stimuli then u cant go that wrong. good luck.

  9. Thanks for your explanation. I classify between analysis and synthesis because the report without synthesis will definitely get lower marks, right?
Some of the questions could not find the correlation between the stimuli. So, by comparing the graphs (eg: the number of visitors dropped 20%)will be considered as synthesis...is this correct?
